Haijun Qiu, Bioinformatics Scientist

Haijun Qiu is a Bioinformatics Scientist at CAG, who joined us in 2009. His primary focus is data integration. He developed and supports a distributed real-time data query tool (WHDB), which allows users to effectively search integrated data-sets at CAG, including phenotypes, genotypes, biorepository and laboratory workflows, and more.

He also works on automating complex analytical workflows for genotyping and next generation sequencing, and manages data integration efforts for the Philadelphia Neurodevelopmental Cohort (PNC) and CHOP's Electronic Medical Records and Genomics (eMERGE) projects. His other responsibilities include system and database administration, and clinical phenotype data extraction and query.

Before joining CAG, he was a database administrator at Center for Biomedical Informatics (CBMi) at CHOP, where he worked on integrating cardiology and genomics data. He earned his Master’s degree in computer science from Washington University in St. Louis.
